Cloud-to-cloud backup

We have noticed that a lot of our customers who are considering moving their servers to the cloud, believe that they will no longer need to worry about backup. Although that is true to a certain extent, as they no longer have hardware to support and maintain, they will still fundamentally have the same server environment, just on a service provider’s platform. Having IT infrastructure hosted on a cloud platform that is accessible from anywhere in the world, can mean that a reliable backup solution is even more important than before. The risk of cyber-attack/ransomware is ever growing year on year, as well as accidental deletion, data corruption and server software issues; these can all result in large data loss or even a complete system outage.

Before moving servers to the cloud, consideration needs to be given to:

  • How they will be backed up?
  • How they would recover in the event of disaster?
  • Is relying on a single provider for this a good idea?

Backing up to multiple locations is advised for a secure and resilient IT setup. Furthermore, it is becoming a requirement of customers/partners who want to mitigate the risks to their business by dealing with companies that have resilient and secure IT systems in place.

It makes practical sense to use a low-effort, reliable service for backup and data protection.

If you would like to discuss your options or have any questions on any of the above please get in touch with us here and we will be happy to help. We can offer a cost effective and reliable cloud to cloud backup service to fit the systems you have in place.
